Kathy founded the Eco Arts Awards in 2011. Her motivation and intention was to inspire more artists to use their skills, talent and imagination toward bringing more 'heart and soul' to the environmental arena. She also felt it was important to give new meaning to the idea of ecology and what it means to all us on a day to day basis in the new millennium. Prior to this endeavor, Kathryn worked for Green Festivals, but the bulk of her work experience has been in advertising and publishing. She's a seasoned collaborator in creating community infrastructures for the arts, including art festivals, exhibitions, regional grant funding committees, publicity for arts councils as well as developing cultural policy. She established the community magazine What's On Tablelands, which enjoys continuing success
in Queensland, Australia.
Kathy, an artist herself, has also been a guardian ad litem, lioness, toastmaster, and social worker. She currently lives in Asheville, North Carolina.
